Different than Other Events

The SRL Scholarship Fund and its primary fund-raising event, The Denver Derby Party, are different than many other charities or events. We have two primary operational objectives;

• The Scholarship Fund's main goal is to keep administrative and event expenses as close to zero as possible. Our organizers, planners, designers and administrators all provide their time and skills free of charge, ensuring that every dollar raised and donated goes to support Denver's underprivileged youth. Several other charitable foundations have been among our largest donors as they recognize that the SRL Scholarship is a great steward of gifts received and effectively deploys its funds to provide largest benefit to the community.
• Our second goal is to consistently provide our supporters and donors with the best possible value at our events. We strive to create a unique and fun atmosphere for patrons, and vast brand exposure for our sponsors. Our most popular event, The Denver Derby Party, has consistently been one of the most sought after event tickets in town and usually sells out in under an hour.

Your Generous Support in Action

Hopefully you were able to join us at the outdoor stage this year for the awarding of our annual scholarship. We presented this years award, four years of tuition plus room and board, to Fred Herrera, a superior student and class leader at Arupe Jesuit High School. Fred will be the first person in his family to graduate high school and, with this award, will realize his dream of attending college at Colorado State University. He delivered a heartfelt and wonderful speech and we are proud to have him representing our foundation. Congratulations Fred!
