Public Transportation is Your Friend!
Listen up y'all - We are encouraging EVERYONE to make use of alternative transportation methods on Saturday. Downtown Denver will be very crowded with not only Derby Party but Cinco de Mayo, a parade, a Rockies game, and the theater crowds.
Your best bet is to take RTD Bus & Light Rail to the Convention Center stop - our entrance will be just steps away. Taking the Shuttle Bus from Max Gill and Grill is another good option.
Please follow the directions of traffic officers located around the event. Be patient and friendly, they are there to help. - Please don't drink and drive!
RTD LIGHT RAIL - F, H, D LINES
This is the preferred method of transportation. With our main entrance only steps away from the Convention Center Light Rail stop this is by far your best bet on arriving to the event on time and hassle free. Be sure to purchase a round-trip ticket to save yourself some time. LIGHT RAIL MAPS
Shuttle Bus from Max Gill & Grill
There will be a double-decker bus leaving from Max's Gill & Grill, 1052 South Gaylord Street, starting at 12:00 and running throughout the day. Purchase a bus ticket at Max's and be sure to keep your wristband on after the party for preferred entrance back inside. Max's will be donating a percentage of their profits from Derby Day to our Foundation so we encourage everyone to start and end the day there!Driving/Parking Details
We suggest taking public transportation but if you do drive there will be LIMITED parking in the convention center garage located off Speer Boulevard, Please be aware that you will be impeded by numerous street closures around the city and most likely have to park many blocks away if garage in convention center is full. Also, most lots and parking meters do not allow overnight parking and there is a Rockies game at 6:05.
Private Shuttle, Limo or Bus Drop-off
Please have all private transportation drop you off at our main entrance at 13th and Champa. The most convenient way to access is from Speer onto Arapahoe and then right onto 13th. After the event is over please return to the same spot your shuttle dropped you off.
NO VALET SERVICE
With the number of people heading downtown and the fact that all hotels are booked, we feel that there is no feasible way to provide reliable and convenient valet service this year.
Taxi Service
All taxis will drop off and pick up customers in a special zone right outside our main exit. Our official sponsor, Yellow Cab, will have hundreds of cabs available at the event all day. Coors will be providing special Derby Party vouchers to help pay for your ride home.
